Kanaka is an auto-driver in Bengaluru. But more than that he is a proud Kannadiga who is a big fan of Annavaru and Kannada cinema. He was born in a small town Bankapura where Ravi Shankar and his goons rule the land. When Kanaka was born since it was Amavasye, a astrologer told his father that his birth would cause problems to the family. Soon after Kanaka's birth their house collapsed and his father's brother was killed by Ravi Shankar. All these omens make Kanaka's father believe that he is the cause of his troubles and he starts ill treating him especially after the birth of another son.
Kanaka's only happiness is his mother and girlfriend in school Sampige. One day Kanaka is sent by his father to deliver milk to the dairy but instead does abhisheka to a Rajkumar cutout. When his father severely beats him for this, he decides to run away from home and goes to Bengaluru where he meets Rangayana Raghu who sticks film posters on walls. The young Kanaka impresses him after he tears Hindi movie posters and puts Shankar Nag posters instead. This habit continues when he grows up and he refuses to tolerate any insult to Karnataka or Kannada films. Apart from this he is known for being helpful to evryone around in his area and one day certain situations makes him return to Bankapura...
