A landmark film in Kannada cinema that boosted the careers of stars Ganesh, Pooja Hegde, Diganth and of course the director, Yogaraj Bhat. Mano Murthy the music director’s career in Kannada movies also rose after Mungaru Male.
Ganesh stars as Preetam, a happy go lucky boy who just like to party with his friends and not take life seriously. His father is very rich but they share a friendly relationship which is not like usual fathers and sons. One day in a comedy situation he meets Nandini (Pooja Gandhi) and takes an immediate liking to her. Soon after that his mother forces him to take her to Madikeri to meet her old friends who have a function coming up. Preetam is not interested but finally agrees to go to Madikeri, drop his mother and return home. But when he reaches there, he finds Nandini is the daughter of his mother’s old friends and so decides to stay back. Nandini’s father is a retired Colonel and can’t hear properly. This causes lots of comedy situations. In the meantime, Preetam discovers something about Nandini that shocks him at first but soon gives him an extra reason to stay back in Madikeri.
